Grade A / USDA Shield
The grade classification of an egg is determined by the interior and exterior quality of the egg. Eggland's Best Classic Eggs are graded on site according to standards established by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Eggland's Best that exceed the USDA basic standards. On-site USDA grading and inspecting is not mandatory for ordinary egg producers. Eggland's Best also requires that all eggs are processed in Safe Quality Food (SQF) level 3 certified facilities.
